What happens when people need to start a new life and get accustomed to a new environment, a new ‘nearby’, while still connected to the old one? Through Alex’s experience, we’ll find out how people find new anchors in their everyday and the obstacles and help they encounter along the way.

“There are some things that remind me a bit of home...”
What happens when you leave and cannot return to your home country. What difficulties and dreams do migrant women share? Through Natalia’s testimony we will find out where they find peace and relaxation in their new city as well as interesting historical facts about it.

“...when I had to leave my home country”
Diana never thought of leaving her home country, but war changed her plans. How did she adapt to a new country and a new language? How did she manage to grow into a new life with new people around her?

“In the beginning it was not easy”
When she first arrived in Germany Nisreem was ‘without a language’. Little by little, she was able to communicate with others and be independent again. She will share some of the most difficult episodes she had to face in the process of starting a new life in a foreign country.
